PLEASE STAY BEHIND SAFETY BARRIERS UNLESS YOU ARE COMPETING
Whilst model motor racing is full of fun and excitement the cars raced are very fast and sometimes very large and heavy.
In the event of an accident these vehicles can become "airborne" it is therefore recommended that a safe distance is kept between spectators and race cars, there is an additional risk of fire as some of these vehicles carry high octane fuel on board but all necessary precautions are taken to minimise the risk.

The Notts & Derby Model Racing Club has been around for more than 25 years now and has attracted many talented model car drivers in that time. Many World Champions have emerged from Notts & Derby making this club "The Place To Race".
Before our present facility was built the club used to meet and race at the Old Basford Hall site with very limited facilities. The club has gone from strength to strength over the years and now boasts excellent facilities for drivers and visitors alike.
The Notts & Derby facility hosts many different types of racing including 1/8th scale Stock Cars & Hot Rods, 1/8th & 1/10th scale ASCAR, 1/6th TopStox, Large Scale Off-Road & we can cater for 1/8th & 1/10th scale Off-Road too..
High Tech electronic lap scoring is used to determine who is in what position during and after a race, this makes our sport very competitive and at the same time, loads of fun !.

The Notts & Derby club is a member of the BRCA, this organisation provides rules and guidelines that govern and promote the sport. As part of this membership our drivers are required to be "BRCA Licensed" and race with adequate insurance cover as safety is paramount.
Well thought-out construction rules administered by the BRCA mean that cars are designed, built & regulated appropriately, this gives rise to fair and sensible competition with safety in mind.
We have a loyal band of volunteers and club officials that take care of the needs of all our members and visitors, part of this much appreciated support includes the sterling work carried out by our catering team and our dedicated race directors, and of course the on-going upkeep & development of the scale model racing facility.

Location
Take M1 Junction 26 exit and travel West on the A610 towards Heanor & Ripley. After approx 2 miles you will. pass the the B6010 exit, stay on the A610 and you will see "IKEA" on your right, take the first turn on the left towards the NCB Bennerley Depot and the Notts & Derby Raceway is through the first gate on the right, this is Birnams Sports And Social Club Sports Field.
